Go to settings. Make sure that Lobby chat and Game chat is checked to allow you to chat with others.

1. In your Friends section, you can chat with Friends/Gamebuddies who are online by clicking on the Chat icon right below their name.
2. Inside a game that you are playing, you can chat with the opponents/team mates by clicking on the Chat icon
